The vanilla absolute at the heart of this perfume is rich, dark and slightly salty, combined with creamy and nutty notes, mandarin and bergamot seasoned with cinnamon and pink pepper. The heliotrope, ylang ylang and rose centrifolia sweeten the scent with fruity florals and honey facets, with a carnal base of musk, leather, gourmand and robust woods.

“Vanilla Edesia is built on duality – just like the smell of vanilla itself which can evoke sweetness and innocence but also has a darker side, spicier, more leathery.

On one side the floral, gourmand, creamy, musky part of the perfume brings softness, comfort and sensuality, on the other the strong character shows through the woody, spicy and leathery facets.

For me this brief was all about abundance and opulence which is why we have so many ingredients and such a long pyramid.

It’s a very sophisticated and complex perfume, but it’s also a mass appealing, addictive and easy to wear fragrance.”

“Edesia, our muse, was the goddess of luxury and feasting. Her name comes from ‘edes’ meaning to consume and Roman feasts were cornucopias of epicurean pleasures: exotic foods, flowers, free flowing wine, musicians, entertainers.

We wanted to capture that sense of extravagance; pleasure you can’t resist: a perfume you want to consume; something addictive, exotic and sensual.

Our brief was to create a gourmand perfume with vanilla at the heart, but not a straightforward vanilla: something rich and complex in character. Not only to capture the table of exotic fruits and spices and flowers, but also delving into the darker carnal aspect of desire.”

PROVENANCE

Working with one of the world’s most exciting perfumers, with the finest naturals and incorporating these exquisite ingredients at very high inclusion (25%) ensures this perfume is outstanding on performance, projection and longevity.

Each ingredient has been carefully selected and blended for its unique and complex facets to perfectly complement each other. The Rose Centrifolia absolute (rose de mai) is a very rare and expensive oil harvested and processed in Grasse to protect its unique olfactory profile. Its notes are floral, green, spicy, fruity, sweet and honey like. This rare elixir is very sensual, deeply rich and floral, evoking values of luxury and was chosen to marry the very rich, sweet, dense vanilla.

Madagascan Vanilla Absolute is the most concentrated form of vanilla and Madagascan vanilla has the highest levels of vanillin along with its faint bitter and salty undertones, chocolate-like nuances and a very deep balsamic body note of vanilla.

The complex pyramid of exceptional ingredients create a truly original luxury perfume of contrasts: contemporary yet timeless; soft but bold; comforting and carnal.
